LP Gas Changeover
Valve keeps gas supply flowing continuously even in the middle of the night.
The automatic LP gas
changeover valve provides continuous gas supply by automatically changing to a
reserve cylinder when the service cylinder is empty. The indicator changes color
to signal that the service cylinder needs to be refilled.
The "Pointer" or
"Tank Selector Pointer" shows the status of the tank it is pointing at. Gas will
flow from either tank, no matter which way the indicator is pointing. The
RED/GREEN indicator at the top of the unit shows the status of the tank it is
pointing at.

RED if that tank is
empty, and the gas is being supplied by the other tank. GREEN if the selected
tank has SOME propane in it. The lever
DOES NOT indicate which tank
is supplying the gas. The indicator also DOES NOT
show the level of the tank, only that it is not empty if GREEN and EMPTY if
RED.
Many people do not have both tank valves open for the automatic
change over to work. Some keep one tank closed so they will know when one tank
is empty and needs refilling. They simply open the valve of the reserve tank,
and get the empty refilled. This is one way of ensuring you don't have two empty
tanks on a freezing Friday evening leaving you without heat and hot water for
the weekend.

Black & Gray
Tanks
When connecting to
an RV site sewer connection, DO NOT open and leave open, your BLACK TANK dump
valve. Wait until you have at least a half tank to dump. This ensures you get a
good "flushing" action to carry any solids down the hose and into the sewer.
Leaving the valve open allows the liquids to drain and leaves the solids, high
and dry. Many people leave the GRAY WATER tank open continuously, and this
practice is fine. However, closing the GRAY tank valve a day or so prior to
dumping the BLACK tank allows you to "flush" the lines following the black water
dump. To clean the level sensors, many people use the flexible wands for that
purpose, this may, or may not work well according to how your sensors are
mounted inside the tank. Another method used is after dumping the black tank,
fill halfway with clean water and pour in a 10 lb. bag of ice through the toilet
just prior to driving down the road. The sloshing and scrubbing action from the
ice will gently scour the insides of the tank.

Water
Pressure Regulator
Your rig is designed
to operate on 40-50 psi water pressure. Many places often exceed that pressure
putting a strain on your water system that can possibly cause real damage. Using
a water pressure regulator helps to avoid over-pressuring your lines and causing
ruptures and/or leaks. There are many types of regulators available, any of them
cost less than repairing damage from a ruptured water line. Our park has a
normal water pressure of 95 psi, so please use a regulator to save your rig. We
have them available to purchase in our store if you don't have one yet.

Connecting
/ Disconnecting Power
You've just
pulled into your assigned spot, leveled and chocked the rig, time to get the
power to it for the air conditioning to start. Make sure the circuit breaker for
the plug you intend to use is OFF. If it is not OFF, an arc is
created when plugging and unplugging that creates pits and wear on the prongs of
your power cord. Eventually, this will cause failure of the prong and force you
to repair or replace the cord. It also causes overheating of the cord and
receptacle which can lead to failure of all components. Plugging IN or
Unplugging, make sure the breaker is OFF

Low Flow
Propane
You just changed over
bottles, or turned on a new tank, and now, you can barely get one burner
to light on the stove, and your furnace won't
light. What Happened ?
You are experiencing low flow mode. Low flow mode is a safety feature
caused when the regulator thinks there is a propane leak with your
gas system. To fix the problem ensure all connections are
tight, and all control knobs and propane tank are -OFF-. Remove the
hose from the propane tank and let rest for a few seconds. Reconnect the
hose, and then, turn ON the tank - SLOWLY - this should slow
the initial flow of the gas and not have the flow limiter come into play.
You may need to repeat this operation up to a couple times. |
